These are crushed cocoa beans and thus a very original form of cocoa. They are first peeled and then broken into small pieces. During drying, a chocolaty taste with a tart aroma develops. They not only taste like very dark chocolate, they also make you feel happy like very dark chocolate does. For me, they go super well in homemade bars or cookies. But they are also the perfect topping for those who like it crunchy and chocolaty.

We have used a compostable material for the packaging of the basics. It is a foil made from cellulose. The outer layer is made from Skandinavian forestry, the inner layer from sugar cane and potato starch. The label is made of a paper-like material made from agricultural residues such as leaves and is also compostable. Sadly, the organic waste regulations currently prohibit the disposal of compostable packaging with organic waste. We hope that garbage disposal management will continue to evolve in the future, as our foil should theoretically be disposed of with the organic waste. Under current regulations, it must go into the yellow (plastic packaging) bin, as the German waste management system currently deals with compostable packaging in the same way as plastic foil. We hope this will change soon.

I am very happy that we have found packaging options made from renewable materials that do not require fossil fuels for their production. However, we will continue to look for the best possible solutions for you in the future - from content to packaging.
